Another favorite find of mine from my delving into the depths of obscure composers. This one is my favorite symphony written by a female composer.
Emilie Mayer was from a financially comfortable family but only started publishing in her mid 30s after her father's death. She was apparently quite prolific with 8 symphonies and numerous other works but I simply cannot find anything else of hers. If you can please let me know because based on the quality of this piece I would dearly like to hear more.
